abyss software package provides de novo, parallel, sequence assembler for short reads, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install abyss
abyss is installed in your system.
Make ensure the abyss package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep abyss *
You will get with abyss package name, version, architecture and description in a table
